How to remove sewn-in hair extensions

Hair extensions offer the ability to have immediately long and full hair, which is convenient for weddings, proms, or other special occasions. When the event is over, however, many people look for ways to take hair extensions out.

Reminders.
  • If the bond doesn't break immediately, don't twist or squeeze more forcibly. To safely remove extensions, simply add more acetone or gel to the bond.
  • Clarifying shampoos will help remove the excess olive oil as well as remaining glue from the weave.
  • Remove hair extensions slowly, as rushing could cause you to cut your natural hair.

2
Place the keratin bond in the mouth of the pliers and squeeze lightly.
Twist gently until you see the bond start to break.
